Story
My dad and I first met Reto at the Laax Open a few years back at the top of the halfpipe during the night finals.
Over the years we got to know each other a bit more and started to play with the idea of Reto making some boards for me some day as his expertise and passion for shredding and technical board making were obvious. Fast forward a few years and here I am riding on these precisely handcrafted “weapons of mass snow destruction” as we call them 😉
In November of last year, I went to Reto’s factory in Meiringen to chat about boards and decide what we wanted to make and how. We spoke about the fundamental factors that influence the way snowboards work and what I want/need in a snowboard. After several hours of discussion in which I learned a lot, we had the dimensions for my new pipe and slope boards down and were ready to go into production!
The materials used for these boards are of the highest quality for maximum shredding performance. These include an unusually high molecular weight density polyethylene with a special surface and high carbon content for optimal electric and thermal conductivity for the base. For the core we mix local woods such as ash, poplar, and a super light exotic wood from a nearby and controlled plantation.
These are podium boards. Since I started riding Zen boards in the halfpipe, I’ve always finished on the top two steps of the podium. That says a lot about board performance.

The ideal flex & pop
Your board’s flex and pop are defined by the sum of all materials used: wood core, epoxy, fiberglass, carbon stringers and dampening materials.
We offer both of Val’s boards in two main flex patterns:
VG Medium Flex
The pattern of choice for persistent riders. It’s playful but at the same time it works like an F1 race car. This flex requires a rider with solid fitness and in return it will deliver a durable performance over many winters.
VG Medium – Stiff pattern
Powerful, reliable, versatile and successful. For advanced to pro riders who are looking for the extra boost and rail-like edge hold.
It’s Valentino’s Flex Pattern of choice when he wants to go for it.

We are currently producing 30 signature custom snowboards on each length. The boards are available in two styles, numbered 1-10 for the True Twin Pipe Board and 1-20 for the True Twin Slope Board.
