Vol. 2.0 is here! We’re thrilled to continue our collaboration with Zen Snowboards, expanding our board lineup. Whether you’re hitting half-pipes, parks, or freeriding, Zen has the supreme board for you. Terje HaakonsenSHIRASAYA board
SHIRASAYA
Length: 147 cm
Waist: 240 mm
Flex: Soft, Medium or Stiff
"Suitable for my oldest daughter and ideal for people of shorter height who want a high-performance board."
- Terje

The SHIRASAYA doesn't refer to a specific sword but rather to the scabbard that holds the blade. It's closely tied to Japan's cultural heritage and serves as a symbol of elegance during a time when strict laws governed the possession of swords.
Terje HaakonsenBOKKEN board
BOKKEN
Length: 152 cm
Waist: 245 mm
Flex: Soft, Medium or Stiff
"I ride this if I don't have a snowskate ;) For me, I use this in tight and small banks, micro pipes- in general, small parks and terrain. The stiff flex option makes it more stable for my weight and strength. I used a 152.5 cm board for pipe in the early '90s, for example."
- Terje

A BOKKEN is a Japanese wooden sword used for training. While safer for practice, they are still lethal weapons in the hands of trained users.
Terje HaakonsenKATANA board
KATANA
Length: 156 cm
Waist: 248 or 253 mm
Flex: Soft, Medium or Stiff
"I use a medium flex, sometimes stiff. Resort freeride, half-pipe, park, and technical banked slaloms. It's my go-to board."
- Terje

The KATANA, the samurai sword embodies the artistry, craftsmanship, and functionality of both the warrior and the bladesmith.
Terje HaakonsenULFBERHT board
ULFBERHT
Length: 158 cm
Waist: 247 or 253 mm
Flex: Soft, Medium or Stiff
"I like this for bigger lines, more speed, bigger drops, super-pipes, huge quarter pipes, and open and faster banked slaloms."
- Terje

The ULFBERHT offers an excellent combination of strength, flexibility, and endurance, designed to meet any conditions on the battlefield.

In Terje's words...

Yes, another collab with Zen Snowboards is just coming through the pipes!

It’s been a wicked and stellar ride these past two years, and we’re happy to announce that we’re expanding the Zen/TH board repertoire. Whether you’re riding half-pipes, parks, banked slaloms, or cruising resorts for freeriding, Zen has the right board for you.

Spending more time with Reto Neiger and learning more about his style of board building played an important role in refining my ideal board flex and tuning experiences. As a result, we’re excited to add two more lengths and wider options for the 156 and 158 to the existing quiver.

Having the right flex on your board is a crucial variable in the overall quest for better board control. Make sure you take your time to provide Reto as much input as possible when placing a custom order.

The ideal flex & pop

Your board’s flex and pop are defined by the sum of all used materials: wood core, epoxy, fiberglass, carbon stringers and flaxseed.

We offer every board in three main flex patterns:

Soft pattern
Progressive riding at its easiest.

Pros:
The pattern of choice for women who ride the full spectrum. It also works well for men who just want to play around and have an easy ride all day long. The edge still grips well for carving and in powder you get this super playful rocker-board feeling.

Cons:
When you carve at higher speeds, the edge hold can reach its limits. The nose might start to flutter and you need extra awareness and ability to catch it and put it back where it belongs.

Medium pattern
The most used, versatile and successful.

Pros:
For advanced to pro riders, this is the most versatile choice to combine powder, carving, speed jibbing, classic kicker lines and halfpipe riding. This is Terje Haakonsen’s pattern of choice for everyday cruising.

Cons:
If you are an advanced beginner, your learning progress will most likely be faster
when opting for the soft pattern.

Stiff pattern
Terje’s personal high performance pattern.

Pros:
This pattern is for extra strong and aggressive riders who have attained the highest fitness level.  This is what you reach for when you want to challenge yourself and the rest of the world. It enables you to become a fine-tuned carving machine.

Cons:
If you don’t rule it, it will rule you.
